EPG Seeds has expanded its support for customers, in time for the busiest period of the year.
Elders recently expanded its seed genetics business with the introduction of EPG Seeds. Chris Willis, Elders Category Manager, said a new website and brand identity and more people for EPG Seeds will give growers better access to the very best in seed genetics bred in Australia and overseas.
Todd Jones – Technical Development Manager
EPG Seeds has welcomed Todd Jones to anchor its technical development activities.
Well known in rural retail and seed industry circles for his previous roles at Seed Force and Heritage Seeds, Mr Jones is providing technical assistance backup and customer service to a growing number of reseller customers using EPG varieties.
He is also working in partnership with wholesalers, farmers and agronomists, particularly in Queensland and New South Wales, to demonstrate the company’s high performing varieties of forage sorghum, forage oats, milling wheat and grain barley varieties.
With wet spring and summer conditions in the north, Mr Jones is encouraging farmers to make the most of strong livestock prices by growing versatile forage sorghum varieties such as Lantern, which is highly palatable and well suited for grazing, standover feed or pit silage.
“Banker forage sorghum is another excellent option from EPG Seeds for farmers looking for a mid to late maturing variety for hay, green chop or grazing,” he said.
“Banker is renowned for its excellent dry matter production, high leaf to stem ratio, and high-quality leafy forage in high and low rainfall conditions.”
Brie Pointer – Sales Support Officer
Brie Pointer has joined EPG Seeds in the role of Sale Support Officer and is enjoying the opportunity to learn about EPG Seeds and the seed business more broadly. She previously worked in a similar role with Riverina Stock Feeds for five years.
“I enjoy helping customers, so I was pleased to secure this role as Sales Support Officer in November 2021 after hearing about it through Colin Smith, who’s with EPG Seeds based at Tamworth,” Ms Pointer said.
With autumn around the corner, Ms Pointer said there’s a lot of interest in forage oats, wheat and barley varieties on offer from EPG Seeds.
“Our biggest sellers at this time of year are high performance forage oat varieties such as Boss, Graza 53 and Graza 85, and in the next few weeks, this will swing to crop varieties including EG Titanium and LG-Gold wheat and LG Alestar malt variety barley.”
